An 80-year-old Chinese grandfather saved an 8-year-old Chinese boy from drowning in a river in the Jiangsu province in China. The young boy was playing with his grandmother when he accidentally fell into the river. The elder man did not hesitate when he heard the little boy screaming for help. With help from his wife, the grandfather that goes by the name Xu went into the river and rescued the boy from drowning.

The boy was taken to the hospital and was given a clean bill of health. The 80 year old senior recognized the grandmother and remembered that he saved her son from drowning in the same river.

In the video, Xu recounts what happens and tells the amazing story of how he saved the young boy’s father’s life thirty years ago.

“When I was younger, her son was drowning in the river and I jumped to save him. Now that I’m old, I can’t jump anymore, ” Xu said.

Xu and his wife have saved four other people from drowning in that river.

If Xu didn’t save the father, the boy wouldn’t have existed for him to save. It’s like a time-traveling movie. But instead of trying to kill someone in the past you save someone’s life so you can save their offspring in the future.

Grandpa Xu you’re a hero and I hope to see you live another thirty years so you can end up saving the young boy’s son from drowning too.
