The two have been dating secretly and got married in a secret ceremony recently. Li is 53 years old, while Jarre is 70.
According to Beijing News, Gong Li was seen at the airport in Cannes, France, on May 14, waiting for Jean-Michel Jarre to arrive. The two looked like they were happily in love as they held hands. Li was in Cannes to receive the Women in Motion award. She is the first Asian American woman to be honored with the award for her contributions to cinema.
Gong Li, is a Chinese born international film actress. She’s best known for her roles in Memoirs of a Geisha and Farewell My Concubine. She has a role in the upcoming live-action Disney remake of Mulan. Li will play the main antagonist, a villainous witch, to the hero Mulan.
This marriage would be Gong Li’s second. In 1996, she married Singaporean tobacco tycoon Ooi Hoe Seong, according to Wikipedia.
The marriage lasted nearly 14 years but ended in divorce in 2010.
Jean-Michel Jarre is a French composer, performer, and record producer. He is known as the “Godfather of electronic music” in France. According to Wikipedia, he has sold over 80 million albums worldwide. He has been married three times before to Flore Guillard, Charlotte Rampling, and Anne Parillaud. His latest marriage to Anne Parillaud came to an end in 2010 when they divorced.
