Ali Wong’s Always Be My Maybe looks unbelievably fun

The new trailer for Always Be My Maybe just dropped and I can’t stop screaming. The Netflix rom-com starring Ali Wong and Randall Park, named after Mariah Carey’s Always Be My Baby, is set to be released on May 31, 2019, and I can’t wait. It just looks so good. Joining Ali and Randall are Daniel Dae Kim and Keanu Reeves. Yes, Keanu Reeves, who tells Ali “I miss your thighs.” Oh my God. The screenplay was written by Wong and Park, and directed by Nahnatchka Khan.

Always Be My Maybe is about two childhood friends who reconnect as adults after losing touch with each other. Ali Wong plays Sasha Tran, a successful celebrity chef in Los Angeles, who’s in a relationship with Brandon Choi, played by Daniel Dae Kim. Randall Park plays Marcus Kim, a struggling musician, who still lives with his father. When Sasha heads back to her hometown of San Francisco to open up a new restaurant, she runs into Marcus and the two become close again.

When Brandon Choi dumps Sasha, Marcus decides to profess his love to her, but she tells him that she’s met someone else. “We had the most insane freaky-ass sex,” she tells him. So who is this other guy? It turns out it’s goddamn Keanu freakin Reaves.

Will Sasha and Marcus get together? Can Marcus get his crush to leave Keanu Reaves? I don’t know, but I know I’ll be watching.

Always Be My Maybe will premiere in theaters on May 29, 2019 in select cities before premiering on Netflix on May 31.
