An Asian family was eating at a restaurant in Carmel Valley in Monterey County, California when they were racially abused by a white man according to Instagram user Jordanlizchan. According to Chan, she was out with her family celebrating her “tita’s” birthday when the incident occurred. She said the man told them “F**k you Asians” and “Go back to whatever f**king Asian country you’re from.”
“This is the face of the man who relentlessly harassed my family and I completely UNPROVOKED, UNWARRANTED, and UNCONSCIOUSABLE,” Chan wrote. “We were celebrating my tita’s birthday, literally just singing happy birthday to her and taking pictures, when this white supremacist starts yelling disgusting racist remarks at us.”
Chan was able to catch the later half of the incident on video where she dares the man to repeat what he said. In the video, the man flicks them off before saying, “F**k you, you f**kers need to leave … you Asian piece of s**t.” A waitress finally intervenes and kicks the man out.
The internet did some sleuthing and according to Jordanlizchan, the man’s name is Michael Lofthouse.
“This man is sickening… there are truly no words….. Michael Lofthouse threatened the life of Ahmed Omer,” she wrote. “Know this man’s name. Michael Lofthouse is an evil racist.”
