Ron Darling let a racial slur slip while he was announcing a baseball game for TBS today. In Game 2 of the American League Division Series between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox, Darling said, “A ch**k in the armor for Tanaka here,” to describe New York Yankees pitcher Masahiro Tanaka. It seems like an honest mistake. An accidental slip of the tongue. However, he could get some heat for it considering people have been fired for using the same phrase. The most famous case of the term being used was against Jeremy Lin. Headline writer Anthony Federico used the term “ch**k in the armor” to describe Jeremy Lin when Lin went on a streak of bad games. Frederico ended up apologizing and Jeremy Lin forgave him. But Frederico ended up getting fired anyway and now he’s a seminarian. Wow, Jeremy Lin really does guide people to Jesus. Amazing!!!!

No doubt Ron Darling is going to face some heat but it’s okay because it turns out he’s half Chinese. If worse comes to worse he can say, “How am I racist against Chinese people when I’m Chinese myself.” Expect that in the next couple of days.
