I didn’t even know that they were making a sequel to “Top Gun” but now that I do I can’t be more excited. Filipino Canadian, Manny Jacinto, is set to play a pilot named “Fritz” in the upcoming sequel. He joins original cast members Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer and newcomers Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Ed Harris, Monica Barbaro, and Miles Teller reports Deadline. Manny Jacinto, 31, is best known for his role in the NBC television show “The Good Place”
The original Top Gun came out in 1986 and went on to gross over $350,000,000. The original story revolves around Tom Cruise’s character Pete Mitchell aka “Maverick” trying to be the best pilot in the elite fighter pilot school and become the Top Gun. At the school, he runs into other badass pilots who want to be the best pilot. There’s planes blowing each other up, an infamous shirtless volleyball scene, and a lot of broing out. But what was most memorable for me wasn’t the movie but Tarantino’s interpretation of the movie. Who knew that Top Gun was the gayest movie ever made?
I’m looking forward to seeing the movie. It’s set to come out sometime in 2020 and it will be directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. So it’ll definitely look cool and have a lot of exploding stuff.
