US Pentagon claims China is training pilots for possible strikes against the US

The Pentagon has just released their “Annual Report on Military and Security Developments Involving the People’s Republic of China”. It details the ambitions of the Chinese military which includes advanced weaponry and setting up bases around the world.

The report said,

“Over the last three years, the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has rapidly expanded its overwater bomber operating areas, gaining experience in critical maritime regions and likely training for strikes against US and allied targets.”

The annual report ordered by Congress also claims that the Chinese military is developing long-range bombers with nuclear capabilities.

“The deployment and integration of nuclear capable bombers would, for the first time, provide China with a nuclear ‘triad’ of delivery systems dispersed across land, sea, and air,” the report said.

President Xi Jinping’s military ambitions

This is no surprise considering one of President Xi Jinping’s main focus is for China to have a stronger army that can rival the United States.

China spends 215 billion dollars a year vs the United States which spends 610 billion dollars a year.

China has established it’s first overseas base in Djibouti, Africa with plans for more bases around the world. Along with modernized weapons which include 2 carriers and new fighter jets the United States has stated that China is one of the United States top challenges.

Just My thoughts

The United States and China weren’t ever best friends and have quite the history of crapping on each other but it seems tensions are ratcheting up more than ever these days. With the trade war and the United States investment in Taiwan through a Defense Bill, it doesn’t seem the two big dogs on the block will ever be besties. But considering what both countries have to lose I don’t see much coming from this but a lot of barking. Which reminds me of this video.

So I doubt there will be a war but watch out if you’re Asian and especially Chinese. Rhetoric claiming the Chinese are doing all kinds of bad things will only get worse. President Trump even claimed Chinese students are “spies“. This isn’t helpful when nationalism is on the rise and usually when nationalism rises, minorities will feel the brunt of the consequences.
