A viral video is circulating in India which shows a 17-year-old Indian girl slipping off a speeding train in Mumbai nearly to her death. Fortunately, for her, nearby passengers grabbed her and pulled her back in. The young woman was shaken but was unhurt.
The young girl is seen with earphones on, wearing a striped black and white shirt, while she hangs on the edge of the train entrance.
She starts to hang out of the entrance when all of a sudden a train going the opposite direction surprises the girl.
The force of the train causes her to lose grip of the pole and she slips out to a certain death. However, the passengers behind her are quick to grab the girl as she hangs for dear life.
They pull the stunned girl up saving her life.
The girl was sent to the hospital and released to recuperate at her home.
“I had just put out my hand. I am unable to remember what happened after that. But I am lucky that people traveling in the same compartment reacted in time and not only save me but also my phone,” the unidentified girl told the Mumbai Mirror.
The Mumbai Mirror also asked her why she was hanging off the compartment when it wasn’t full. “I was talking with a friend on the phone and standing in the safe zone. Suddenly, when another train was passing, I just put my hand out and lost balance.”
The senior divisional security commissioner of Central Railway Mumbai Division, Sachin Bhalode, told the Mumbai Mirror they will be investigating the incident further to see how to prevent future accidents from happening.
